Our Mission

At Nurofen for Children, we’re for Australians who do inspiring work to achieve amazing things and are proud to support CareFlight and it’s pilots in 2023.

In 2023, for the first time, CareFlight will be rolling out its Baby Emergency Course, proudly supported by Nurofen for Children. From fever to choking and CPR, CareFlight’s Baby Emergency Course provides parents and carers of infants, toddlers and preschoolers with lifesaving skills and the confidence to apply them. Nurofen for Children’s support will enable CareFlight to buy training equipment and set up infrastructure for the successful roll out of the course.

CAREFLIGHT SAVES LIVES. LEAVE THE PAIN TO NUROFEN.¹

Sandra's Story

In 2010, Sandra’s daughter Ashley was just 12 months of age when she nearly drowned. Sandra called neighbours for help who immediately started CPR and called ‘000’. The CareFlight helicopter landed nearby in a reserve shortly after and CareFlight was met with a truly life or death situation. As the result of the rapid intervention of neighbours and CareFlight, Ashley made a miraculous recovery.

Today, Sandra stresses the importance of every parent knowing CPR and the difference CareFlight’s Baby Emergency Course can make to young families facing parenthood for the first time.

Meet Greg

Greg has been part of CareFlight for the past 15 years. Flying CareFlight helicopters to those in critical need of assistance, he ensures help gets there as soon as possible.

Greg believes that all Aussies deserve the best care and training, so they are prepared when the unthinkable happens. Being a father himself, Greg is a strong supporter of the Baby Emergency Course, and providing parents and carers of infants, toddlers and preschoolers with lifesaving skills and the confidence to apply them.

2 in 5, 41% Aussie parents of children under 17, have not done First Aid or emergency* training that is focused on children.

38% of parents who have seen their child experience a fever wish they had more knowledge about managing fever in their child.

45% of Aussie Mums who haven’t undertaken First Aid or emergency* training for children say it’s because they “don’t know where to access” the training.

*Based on an emergency scenario in an aussie family home where lifesaving training could be relevant.

CareFlight Baby Emergency Course - Lifesaving skills from fever to choking and CPR

It’s no secret how easily infants and young children can become unwell or hurt themselves. It’s often hard to tell how to respond and when to worry. CareFlight’s expert educators will teach participants a range of skills to help parents and carers become confident when caring for the children in their life.

Commencing the roll out throughout Australia’s capital cities, each course will run for two hours and accommodate a raft of locations, dates and times. A realistic and hands-on approach to CareFlight’s training will keep things simple to understand and provide practical examples and simulations.
